high-quality genre films with experienced directors
attached to maximize profits for investors.
THE
COMPANY
Virtual Slate
was founded and is managed by Jan Reesman and Deryn Warren,
experienced producers and directors who will oversee each
project from pre-production through post. Virtual Slate
will take points from each project.
Jan Reesman
has extensive experience in
directing, producing, writing and managing in all aspects
of film and theater. She has also received numerous awards
for her work in her work as a director and as a writer.
For television Jan produced Crystal Force, To Kill For,
California Hot Wax, The Racer's Edge, and Much Madness for
Showtime.
She produced and
directed the Up all night classic film , Bikini Car Wash,
which continues its popularity with late night viewers. In
addition she directed a television pilot called Making It
starring Ernest Thomas. Recently Jan has shadowed on CSI
Miami, Seinfeld, West Wing and Suddenly Susan.
She also
directed the award winning short, Escaping Jersey, narrated
by Marietta Hartley. It won dozens of awards around the
world including First Glance LA -narrative short winner,
Worldfest Houston, short subject, original comedy, 7th
Cinevue International Film and Video Festival Competition,
Sea to Sky Film Festival B.C.,Def 2 – Deep Ellum – Dallas
Texas , Greenwich Film Festival in London, First Glance 4,
Philadelphia, L.A. Italian Film Festival and the Dahlonega
International Film Festival,
Jan was the artistic director of the second stage at the
Actors Ally until 1990 and at the Adam Hill theater until
1995. She produced and directed over thirty productions.
Jan is currently a
finalist in the 2008
Disney Fellowship Program for screening writing for her
script 2008 Disney Fellowship Program for screening writing
for her script JUNCTION. For her other screenplays and
plays Jan won awards for American’s best (NBC) for sitcom
writing, the One Minute Movie Contest , the HBO New Comedy
writers, Hudson Shorts and an Ada Award. HBO NEW COMEDY
WRITERS, HUDSON SHORTS and an ADA AWARD.
Jan Reesman is an
alumna of the American Film Institute from the Directing
Program and is currently a Board member of The Alliance Of
Women Directors.
Deryn Warren
is a successful theater and
film director. A graduate of the American Film Institute,
Deryn has directed three feature films, all of which were
financial successes brought in on time and on budget.
Deryn's thriller "Black Magic Woman", starring Mark Hamill
and Apollonia, was released under the Trimark label. In
addition to directing the film, Deryn also shared a
producer credit. The film had a theatrical release in the
United States and Europe and tripled its original
investment. Her previous two productions, "To the Devil a
Son" and "Mirror of Death", both made more than four times
their original investment. Deryn's films have been shown on
Showtime and HBO.
Because of her careful planning, attention to detail and
strict attention to budget, Deryn Warren is "bondable" on
even low budget features.
